You Gotta Know When to Hold 'Em...Know When to Fold 'Em

I love books...love to have 'em, hold 'em, see 'em, read 'em. And when that's all said and done, I love to find new ways to love them! One of my favorites is to take pages from old and abandoned beautifully illustrated books and turn them into envelopes, tags, embellishments and confetti.

A sample of my most recent creations!
The books used to make all these sweet little things came from my town's recycling center where there's an ever-changing free-for-the-taking collection of no-longer-wanted books, puzzles, magazines, etc...nothing in this week's selection catches my eye,

but, from these two gems I picked up a while back...

I selected from pages and pages...

and gathered supplies...

to trace, cut, fold, glue, punch, and use every bit of the book pages.

To wind up with this...

and this...

I was inspired by the way Bespoke Letterpress bundled up their map envelopes
so I fashioned packs likewise, sort of...

I gathered 10 together, noted their size and the book they came from then made a cute tag (I glued a bunch of
punched tags to grocery bags then trimmed around the tag for a nice finished look) and bundled
them together with old plastic ties that my strings of Christmas lights were packaged with!
They'll make cute little gift fillers, won't they?

These little bird bundles are so sweet...just snap some twigs and tie with twine!

And when there was nothing left to punch out of the page...

I shredded the rest to make confetti for gift package filler.
